So you bought a brand new monitor, but now your desktop speakers have been pushed waaay off to the side. Not only does it add to clutter on your desk, but it may not be ideal placement depending on your speakers. If only someone had a better way… But first... What am I drinking??? Back to Pyramid Brewing (Portland, OR) and their Apricot Ale (5.1%). I'm a fan of apricot, and a fan of sours, but this one just didn't do it for me. The sour notes took away from the flavor instead of adding to it. Meh... Check out the Sound BlasterX Katana here: https://amzn.to/2JtwUc1 LG 43UD79-B 43" 4K Monitor: https://amzn.to/2JBcABf Cougar Attack X3 Speedy Keyboard: https://amzn.to/2y0OnmN So what is this thing, and why is this better than most other computer sound solutions? The Sound Blaster X Katana is a 24” wide bar with three separate amplifiers, one for each of the three channels… left right and sub, with 150W in total. It also supports a wide range of input options, with USB Audio at 24-bit, TOS Optical, 3.5mm Line in, 3.5mm Microphone in, a dedicated TRRS port for your headset, Bluetooth 4.2, and a USB A port for a USB drive to work as a standalone music player. Of course the most important feature in 2018 is the 49 individually addressable RGB LEDs beneath. With a price point of $300, do I recommend the Sound Blaster X Katana from Creative Labs? Wholeheartedly yes. The looks, the features, the sound quality, and of course, the RGB ;-) this is definitely one of those cases where spending a premium can absolutely net you the best results.
